Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum five (5) years of experience in the marine industry with strong knowledge in powerboat and sailboat terminology.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical information.
  • Generate financial reports and contracts.
  • Experience in estimating boat repairs, hours of labor, and costs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Previous boatyard/shipyard experience preferred.
  • Certifications: Must hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Pre-Employment: All applicants must be able to pass a background check as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Identify maintenance and customer service needs. Act as a liaison between company and customer. Frequently visit vessels to stay abreast of schedule, ensuring agreed launch dates are met.
  • Administration: Produce estimates for service requests. Prepare, track, and manage service invoices. Travel off-site for boat inspection and estimates.
  • Project Coordination: Schedule workforce and equipment while considering project budgets. Ensure quality control by performing inspections and verifications of job tasks prior to billing and vessel departures.
  • Maintain and monitor service jobs in process and obtain customer approval for growth work or scope change
  • Sales/Marketing: General sales assistance for boat show and other marketing events.
