The Service Line Administrator for the Acute Care Service Line (ACSL) is accountable for the operational effectiveness and strategic performance of Hospital Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Pulmonology/Critical Care services across the health system. In dyad partnership with the System Acute Care Service Line Medical Director, the Administrator designs, develops, and implements the Service Line’s vision and strategy. This role leads innovation in care models and programs that improve quality, access, and patient experience while achieving the lowest total cost of care. In close collaboration with nursing and interdisciplinary leadership, the Administrator promotes continuous clinical excellence, operational consistency, and integration across the continuum of acute care. What You Can Expect: Serve as the accountable administrative leader for all elements of performance within the Acute Care Service Line, including quality, safety, access, experience, workforce, and financial outcomes. Lead and partner with employed and independent providers across Hospital Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Pulmonology/Critical Care to achieve ever-improving clinical outcomes and efficiency, aligned with annual organizational goals. Collaborate with quality and safety leaders to advance high reliability principles, support development and use of meaningful data and metrics, and ensure accreditation and regulatory standards are met or exceeded across the Service Line. Partner closely with nursing leadership, facility leaders, division leaders, and system executives to ensure acute care services are delivered in a coordinated, patient-centered, and fiscally responsible manner across all sites of care. Support and advance system-wide efforts to reduce unwarranted variation, standardize best practices, and strengthen integration across the Acute Care continuum. Partner with the System Medical Director and nursing leadership in the recruitment, engagement, and retention of high-performing physicians, advanced practice providers, and operational leaders. Maintain accountability for the financial performance of the Acute Care Service Line, including budgeting, forecasting, and identification of performance improvement opportunities. Model and demonstrate the values and behaviors of St. Luke’s leadership, inspiring teams to deliver exceptional patient-centered care. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
