Service Coordinator (BHC)
About The Position
Anderson Auto is looking for a service coordinator (BDC) to join our team. The service coordinator is responsible for assisting customers schedule appointments for service and repairs on their vehicles. This is an important job that directly contributes to the success of business operations. We are looking for an energetic Service Coordinator with great customer service skills to join our team. This person is responsible for taking incoming calls to assist our customers with setting appointments for their vehicle service and repairs. This is a great entry-level position and a great place to get a start in the automotive industry with plenty of room to grow and progress within the company.
Requirements
- High School or GED preferred
- Prior sales or customer service experience preferred
- General understanding of vehicle operation preferred
- Proficient with computers to research parts and equipment
- Clean driving record
- Able to pass a drug screen and background check
Responsibilities
- Assists customers with their Service Appointment needs.
- Schedules service appointments.
- Contact customers when Special Order Parts have arrived.
- Contact owners to come in for recall repairs.
- Stays up to date with active recalls.
- Contacting customers for recall repairs.
- Assist Service Advisors with calling customers about their vehicle & updated contact information.
- Coordinate alternative transportation for customer needs.
- Control files, reference books, and other paperwork at the parts counter.
- Maintain customer back-order file.
- Report any inventory or price discrepancies to the Parts Manager.
- Maintain master parts and price book.
- Make suggestions when appropriate regarding specific parts and accessories that may be needed for each job.
- Provide information regarding the associated cost of parts required on repair orders.
- Have knowledge of what parts are available.
- Keep inventory control system and parts catalog up to date.
- Inform service personnel and customers when back ordered or special-order parts are received.
- Be polite and friendly, greet customers promptly and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Become proficient and familiar with computer systems necessary for parts and service management.
- Communicate effectively and often with Assistant Service Managers (ASMs) / Service Advisors and Parts Advisors.
- Performs all duties in a safe manner, immediately reporting any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to management.
- Shows when scheduled to work, on time, ready and able to perform essential job functions.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and practices.
- Perform other tasks as directed.
