THE ROLE: The Shop Technician will be responsible for evaluating and repairing submersible wastewater pumps (Flygt) at branch locations. This role includes mechanical and electrical troubleshooting. Product specific training will be provided. May interact with customers. Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • 0 to 2 years of technical work experience, 1 year preferred
  • Electrically and mechanically inclined
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and troubleshooting ability
  • Comprehend technical information and communicate it clearly
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and smart devices
  • Driver Application for Employment
  • Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
  • Driver Disclosure and Release
  • Employee Applicant Drug and Alcohol Statement
  • FMCSA Certificate of Awareness
  • Driver Certificate of Violations
  • Driver Statement of On Duty Hours
  • Road Test

  • Copy of Medical Certificate

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, repair, and conduct mechanical and electrical testing of submersible wastewater pumps
  • Operating industrial equipment in a shop environment such as forklift, overhead cranes, etc.
  • Working with various company provided hand and power tools
  • Accurate record keeping inside of Xylem’s work order management system
  • Create and maintain a safe and organized working environment and culture within the organization
  • Take care of company property
  • Demonstrates high impact culture through innovation, accountability and empowerment
  • Must be able to function in a team environment
  • Usually works with direct supervision but can work independently if needed
