Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Service Advisor in an automotive setting.
  • Broad knowledge of automotive systems and ability to explain technical diagnoses to non-technical individuals.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build strong customer relationships.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, with a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Welcoming customers to the dealership and engaging with them to understand their vehicle concerns.
  • Ascertaining automotive problems and services by listening to customer's description of symptoms, clarifying description of problems, conducting inspections, checking vehicle maintenance records, and examining service schedules.
  • Developing estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor, and calculating customer's payment, including deductibles.
  • Maintaining customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle, obtaining customer's approval of estimates, obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers, and answering questions and concerns.
  • Handling administrative duties such as processing invoices and maintaining customer records.
  • Maintaining automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned.
  • Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading manufacturers' publications, etc.
