This Service Account Manager role is responsible for leading and growing Hydratight’s Specialty Services portfolio within the shipbuilding, ship repair, and marine fabrication industries across an assigned geographic region. The position focuses on delivering high-value solutions in Specialty Machining, Controlled Bolting and Tensioning, and related mechanical services that support new vessel construction, overhauls, modernization, and MRO work. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, preferably in machining, mechanical services, or fabrication environments, coupled with exceptional customer relationship skills and a solid understanding of safety, quality, and schedule-driven work within shipyards and marine industrial facilities.

Requirements

  • Strong familiarity with portable machining and controlled bolting processes (manual or CNC), fabrication, mechanical services, or industrial maintenance environments.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work scopes common in shipbuilding and marine repair.
  • Commercial acumen with experience managing complex, schedule-driven industrial projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of CRM systems (Salesforce preferred), forecasting, and territory management.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university in business, sales, engineering, manufacturing, industrial technology or a similar field; or 5 or more years related experience in industrial sales, machining, fabrication, mechanical services, or shipyard operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience developing and managing strategic industrial accounts.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet site-specific background and drug screening requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers at shipyards, ship repair facilities, naval contractors, and marine fabrication shops.
  • Identify and secure service opportunities supporting new builds, dry dock periods, refits, life-extension projects, and emergent repair work.
  • Act as a trusted technical partner, aligning Hydratight’s machining and joint integrity capabilities with customer project requirements and schedules.
  • Expand Hydratight’s presence within marine and shipbuilding accounts at both the corporate and project level.
  • Identify opportunities for specialty machining (on-site and in-shop), flange management, bolting/tensioning, and critical joint integrity services.
  • Develop and execute account strategies to establish Hydratight as a preferred mechanical services provider within assigned shipbuilding and marine accounts.
  • Prepare forecasts, assess market potential within marine sectors, and collaborate with Marketing on targeted service strategies.
  • Manage and grow regional marine and shipyard accounts with accountability for revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with Service Sales Support, Operations, Engineering, and Technical teams to develop compliant, efficient service solutions for shipyard environments.
  • Provide technical input on proposals, pre-qualifications, and job execution planning—particularly where machining tolerances, weld prep, or mechanical interfaces are critical.
  • Support execution teams by ensuring scope clarity, safety compliance, and alignment with shipyard quality requirements.
  • Maintain account plans, log visit reports, and create and maintain opportunities within Salesforce.
  • Participate in weekly reviews with the sales manager including gap planning, meeting coordination, forecasting, and regular updates on the status of opportunities.
