About The Position

This role is for a Server at Henry Dorrbaker's, Beloit's coolest hangout spot, which features duckpin bowling, mini golf, vintage arcade games, and a giant bar with pub fare, craft cocktails, and brews. As a Server, you will be a key part of the Geronimo Hospitality Group team, responsible for ensuring every guest leaves with a lasting impression. Your role involves effectively serving customers, providing information to help with food and beverage selections, presenting order choices, and maintaining a warm and friendly dining experience. Geronimo Hospitality Group is a collection of award-winning boutique hotels, restaurants, and clubs that aims to push boundaries and values hard work.

Requirements

  • One year server experience preferred
  • Basic math skills required
  • Must be able to add, subtract, and count change back to customer
  • Legible handwriting
  • Strong customer service and oral communication skills
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • U.S. Work Authorization

Nice To Haves

  • Wine experience and/or certification
  • Experience with MICROS and Square POS Systems

Responsibilities

  • Take customers’ food and beverage orders
  • Ensure that all orders are accurate and brought to each table in a timely manner
  • Suggest appetizers and meals to customers based on the menu and specials
  • Work closely with restaurant management to immediately address all customer concerns and create a pleasant dining experience
  • Confirm orders with the chefs and bartenders whenever a clarification is requested
  • Assist with setting tables and rearranging tables to accommodate parties
  • Detailed knowing and understanding menus and beverage lists
  • Maintains cleanliness standards in restaurant, waitstation and kitchen service area in order to have a clean, presentable and attractive facility and to satisfy state and local health board requirements
  • Controls allocated guest checks by following established check-use procedures and legibly documenting all required information as the customer's order is taken and processed
  • Receives proper payment from guest and ensures accuracy of guest check and method of payment in order to safeguard customer and company
  • Completes all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing sidework as instructed
  • Attends all pre-meal and departmental meetings in person in order to enhance communications and gain knowledge of products, service and facility
  • Respect all of your co-workers and managers
  • Responds to customer inquiries and comments in person and on phone by providing timely and knowledgeable information in order to provide quality customer service
  • Present a clean and professional appearance at all times
  • Have fun at work; leave baggage at the door; come to work with a positive attitude ready and willing to help create a fun and memorable experience for our guests
