About The Position

D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Server Administrator I-AS400. The right candidate will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of multiple partitions on multiple AS400 systems for DR Horton and Forestar. The Server Administrator I-AS400 also actively assists to resolve problems and issues with minimal disruption to Operations within DR Horton and Forestar companies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Zero to four years of AS400 administration experience
  • Knowledge of OS400 and replication tools
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email
  • Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred
  • Experience in supporting High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions a plus
  • Experience working on a matrix team consisting of a variety of Operation groups a plus
  • Knowledge of BRMS (Backup Management software for AS400) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the planning, scheduling and performing proactive maintenance including AS400 Operating System (OS400), 3rd party software, and PTF installation
  • Assist in monitoring and performing maintenance of communication and replication between production and DR Horton partitions
  • Aid in performing preventive scheduled maintenance and IPL of iSeries systems to ensure optimum performance levels
  • Train to be responsible for timely backups of all partitions using BRMS
  • Ensure backup tapes are maintained offsite and recycled in accordance with DR Horton standards
  • Participate in regular backup operations and assist in implementing appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
  • Provide both external and internal auditors with snapshots of backups as requested
  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to management and internal customers
  • Work with cross-functional project teams to implement highly available solutions
  • Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
  • Ability to participate in on call rotation
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Ability to regularly work overnight
  • In office Monday- Friday
