About The Position

The Center for Workforce Research and Information manages the programs that provide the most important information about labor market conditions in Maine. These programs inform the public about employment, unemployment, and wages for the state and local areas. The Senior Workforce Data Analyst contributes to the Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) program. The OEWS program produces annual employment and wage estimates for over 600 occupations in Maine based on a bi-annual survey of business establishments. Responsibilities include classifying, clarifying, and processing occupational survey data, ensuring accuracy and completeness by researching job postings, employer websites, and conducting outreach to employers via email and phone to collect responses and/or additional information. Attention to detail, responsiveness, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are important to success. Most members of our team primarily work from home several days a week and some work primarily in our Augusta office. Our full staff usually joins together in the office on Wednesdays. Responsibilities

  • Conduct outreach to collect survey responses from employers or obtain clarification regarding provided data
  • Research, verify, and assign industry and occupation codes to employer accounts and job and wage information from employers
  • Review, edit, and process data to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Answer incoming calls from employers to complete surveys and address questions or concerns
  • Process mail, fax, and other program correspondence received by the program
  • Assist in presentations and training sessions conducted by CWRI
  • Cross-train in other labor statistics programs and provide operational support
