About The Position

The Senior Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management (SVP, RCM) is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational oversight, and financial performance of the organization’s end-to-end revenue cycle. This role ensures the optimization of revenue integrity, cash flow, compliance, and patient financial experience while driving efficiency, scalability, and continuous improvement across all revenue cycle functions. The SVP, RCM partners closely with executive leadership, clinical operations, compliance, IT, and third-party vendors to align revenue cycle strategy with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive revenue cycle strategy aligned with organizational financial and operational objectives.
  • Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership on revenue cycle performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Lead transformation initiatives to modernize revenue cycle operations, technology, and analytics.
  • Provide executive oversight of all revenue cycle functions, including: Patient access and registration Insurance verification and authorization Charge capture and coding Billing and claims management Denials prevention and appeals Accounts receivable and collections Patient billing and financial communications
  • Ensure seamless coordination across front-end, mid-cycle, and back-end processes.
  • Drive sustained improvement in key revenue cycle metrics, including cash collections, days in A/R, denial rates, net revenue yield, and cost-to-collect.
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing in accordance with payer contracts and reimbursement methodologies.
  • Identify and implement initiatives to improve revenue capture and reduce revenue leakage.
  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, payer, and regulatory requirements (e.g., CMS, HIPAA, payer contracts).
  • Oversee internal and external audits pertaining to revenue cycle activities.
  • Partner with compliance and legal teams to mitigate financial and regulatory risk.
  • Lead revenue cycle technology strategy, including EHR, practice management, billing, and analytics platforms.
  • Leverage data and advanced analytics to drive performance transparency, predictive insights, and informed decision-making.
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with RCM vendors, clearinghouses, and outsourced partners.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing revenue cycle leadership team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish succession planning and workforce development strategies to support long-term organizational growth.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to improve documentation, workflows, and financial outcomes.
  • Enhance the patient financial experience through clear communication, transparency, and patient-friendly billing processes.
