About The Position

Mercer University invites applications for a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as Senior Vice President for Marketing Communications.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing or related field is required
• Ten years of progressive leadership experience in a comparable role
• Candidates must have exceptional writing and communications skills and the ability to lead teams to achieve marketing and branding objectives

Nice To Haves

• Candidates with a master's or doctorate in a related field and/or prior experience in higher education are preferred

Responsibilities

• The SVP for Marketing Communications serves as the University’s chief marketing communications officer
• Leads the Office of Marketing Communications to advance the Mercer brand
• Serves as principal spokesperson
• Chairs the University Marketing Committee, composed of marketing communications professionals in other University units on all campuses/centers, to ensure coordinated brand messaging and achieve University brand strategies
• Serves on the President’s Cabinet and as liaison to the Board of Trustees Marketing Committee
