Under general supervision, performs analytical, technical and administrative work in the planning, design and installation of new and existing personal computer systems. Requirements

  • None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to an Associate's degree.
  • Minimum of five (5) years related experience. Experience working with LAN's/WAN's and working knowledge of required hardware and software.
  • Employee must have a valid Tennessee driver's license Class D and state mandated minimum insurance coverage.
  • Driving record must meet Covenant Health standards at the date of hire and throughout employment tenure.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference may be given to individuals possessing an Associate's degree in a directly-related field from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision, performs analytical, technical and administrative work in the planning, design and installation of new and existing personal computer systems.
  • Under general direction, provides second/third level end user PC support.
  • Interacts with various levels of IT staff and others outside of IT to restore service and/or identify and correct problems.
  • Coordinates configuration/installation and general troubleshooting of PC hardware and software.
  • Implements hardware and software testing.
  • Directs end user training and documentation.
  • Provides remote PC support and troubleshooting
  • Provides Assistance and Directions to fellow IT Groups
  • Provide mentoring to junior staff.
  • Provides status reports, problem summaries, and project status as required.
  • Works on moderately complex applications.
  • Confers with end users to determine types of hardware and software required.
  • Writes programs to fulfill requirements or selects appropriate off-the-shelf software and modifies to suit.
  • May maintain or utilize telecommunications protocols.
  • Installs new hardware and maintains existing hardware.
  • Trains end users in use of equipment and software.
  • Local travel required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
