The US Oncology Network is looking for a Senior University Relations Specialist to join our team at Texas Oncology. What does the Senior University Relations Specialist do? (including, but not limited to) The Sr. University Relations Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the build and advancement of the organization’s early talent strategy by building strong campus partnerships and delivering high-quality career recruiting experiences. This position supports campus engagement, early career sourcing, hiring events, and program initiatives that strengthen the pipeline of emerging talent across nursing, radiation therapy, allied health, and administrative functions. Beyond day-to-day recruiting support, the Sr. University Relations Specialist contributes to the design, enhancement, and scalability of the University Relations program, by helping shape processes and engagement strategies that position the organization as an employer of choice among students and academic institutions.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in recruiting, HR, university relations, career services, or program coordination.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; or experience in lieu of education.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills. Ability to build great relationships with candidates, internal stakeholders, and colleagues at all levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple streams of work independently and close attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated initiative, judgment and maturity; track record as self-starter; mindful of external reputation; discreet, respectful and caring with confidential information.
  • Proactive problem solver capable of identifying issues and generating solutions.
  • Experience with ATS/CRM systems and virtual recruiting/event platforms.
  • Ability to balance multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to have a flexible schedule and travel to campuses and hiring events as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare, clinical recruiting, or high-volume hiring environments.
  • Knowledge of healthcare programs (nursing, allied health, life sciences) and relevant education pathways.
  • Familiarity with campus recruiting tools such as Handshake, Symplicity or similar platforms.
  • Experience coordinating internships, campus partnerships, early talent pipelines, or early-ID programs with high school or pre-professional students.
  • Experience contributing to the development of a university relations or early talent program, including creating new processes, campus strategies, or event frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute on campus and virtual recruiting events, including career fairs, information sessions, presentations, and on campus interviews.
  • Represent the organization as a brand ambassador at campus and community events, engaging students, faculty, and academic partners.
  • Manage event logistics including materials, shipments, calendars, technology needs and staffing schedules to ensure seamless execution.
  • Proactively source early career talent using platforms such as Handshake, Symplicity, LinkedIn, and program-specific channels.
  • Conduct initial candidate screens and present qualified, diverse candidate slates to recruiters and hiring managers.
  • Coordinate interviews, manage candidate communication, and support a timely, organized recruitment process.
  • Deliver a high touch, positive candidate experience through consistent communication and follow up.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with career services, faculty, program directors, and student organizations.
  • Support the identification and expansion of university, technical school, and program partnerships aligned to workforce needs, including hard-to-fill and critical roles.
  • Promote employer brand visibility through postings, campus programming, student engagement opportunities, and targeted outreach.
  • Support internship, externship, or residency program activities including onboarding, orientation, communication, and engagement initiatives.
  • Assist with tracking intern assignments, manager check-ins, program evaluations, and end of term reporting.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent program execution and positive participant experience.
  • Maintain accurate candidate, event, and partnership data in ATS and CRM systems.
  • Track event outcomes, application activity, pipeline health, support reporting and insights that inform program effectiveness and future planning.
