About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The Chief Therapist, in collaboration with and under the
direction of the Manager of Medical Physics, is accountable for ongoing shift
leadership, and for the operation of the Radiation Oncology department. The
Chief Therapist provides direct supervision of the radiation therapy
technologists, monitors patient workflow, educates the radiation therapy
technologists when necessary, provides care for patients while delivering
radiation therapy, and works as a Tech, as scheduled. The Chief Therapist
coaches and guides radiation therapy technologists under his/her supervision;
demonstrates Professionalism and Excellence by acting as a role model for
clinical and service excellence. The Chief Therapist will be responsible for
creating and maintaining the schedules, this will include finding coverage for
time-off requests.

Requirements

• EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiation Therapy Technology, ARRT credentialed as a registered radiation therapy technologist.
• CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Current Radiology license in the State of New Mexico.
• SKILLS: Technical knowledge of radiation therapy equipment, Anatomy and Physiology Knowledge of treatment positioning, medical terminology, radiation therapy quality assurance and quality control requirements Basic computer skills.
• EXPERIENCE: Minimum seven years of experience required
