About The Position

Our progressive and growing firm is seeking a tax manager with 7 to 10 years of recent public accounting experience for its Columbia, SC office. Our firm has an excellent client base and great people to work with in an outstanding work environment. The firm has been named one of the Best Places to Work in South Carolina for several years. This is mostly an in office position during busy season with opportunities to work from home some during the off season. Position includes an excellent compensation and benefits package as well as great opportunity for internal growth and career progression. The position is intended to be a fast track to partnership and taking over a significant client base for potentially retiring partners in the near future. This position will have the following responsibilities and qualifications:

Requirements

7 to 10 years of public accounting experience
Currently hold a valid CPA license or sitting for the CPA exam preferred
Supervisory experience
Ability to Commute: Columbia, SC 29201 (Required)
Ability to Relocate: Columbia, SC 29201: Relocate before starting work (Required)

Responsibilities

Preparation and review of federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses including C and S corporations and partnerships.
Direct communication with clients to resolve any issues as part of the tax preparation/review process.
Perform research utilizing tax research databases such as BNA and/or RIA.
Provide tax planning and advice for clients in order to minimize client current and future taxes.
Manage multiple clients and assist with training of staff
