About The Position

Senior Systems Engineering Manager Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is currently seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and collaborative Senior Systems Engineering Manager to lead the F/A-18 and EA-18G Systems Engineering team within the Air Dominance Fighters team located in Berkeley, MO . This F/A-18 and EA-18G Systems Engineering team supports F/A-18 E/F production and retrofit as well as EA-18G retrofit and development activities. Additionally, the team partners across internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers to deliver critical mission capability to the U.S. Navy Customer. Systems engineering responsibilities of the team include risk management, requirements decomposition and verification, managing the technical baseline, system integration, leading milestone reviews, resolving emergent issues, and driving engineering excellence throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years of engineering related experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in leading projects and/or engineering teams
  • Experience with major program design reviews including SRR, PDR, CDR, and execution of enterprise standard gated reviews.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and support to individual contributors to enable successful execution of Systems Engineering activities.
  • Management and oversight of staffing levels; performance evaluations, performance development and coaching to enable employee development and program success
  • Responsible for leading integration across teams to ensure safety, technical excellence, and product integrity.
  • Drives adherence to Boeing and program processes, setting high standards for quality and performance.
  • Effectively plans and executes statement of work (cost, schedule, technical, & safety).
  • Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans.
  • Identify, develop, & champion initiatives to manage the business.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
