About The Position

This job is Part-Time/On-Call. We are seeking an advanced machinery controls system engineer focused on lifecycle support for USS ARLEIGH BURKE class destroyer Machinery Control Systems (MCS). Position requires expertise in both shipboard and Land Based Engineering Site (LBES) environments, working across multiple MCS variants with emphasis on hardware and software integration. This role demands extensive experience in developing and maintaining critical control systems for naval applications. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline and 7+ years of professional experience OR Master’s degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with field of concentration in computer science with 10+ years of experience of professional experience in computer design, software development or computer networks
  • Active DoD Secret clearance and US citizenship
  • Must have a valid US passport or ability to obtain one upon position acceptance

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive lifecycle support for supervisory machinery control systems
  • Contribute technical expertise to future MCS system designs
  • Develop and refine system/software requirements for next-generation systems
  • Execute complex troubleshooting of PLC-based control systems in both LBES and shipboard environments
  • Conduct technical documentation review for current and future systems
  • Develop sophisticated test procedures aligned with system requirements
  • Provide expert advice and technical guidance on industrial control systems, using deep experience with PLCs, virtualization, and naval machinery controls to solve complex problems and support critical systems both onboard ships and at land-based engineering facilities.
