Aretum is on the lookout for a dedicated and experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join our innovative team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the organization's systems infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. Your expertise will be vital in supporting our mission to deliver top-tier technology solutions for our government clients. As a Senior Systems Administrator, you will be tasked with troubleshooting system issues, implementing system enhancements, and providing technical support while collaborating with various teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of IT systems. Due to the nature of our work as a federal consulting organization, employees may be expected to handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and must adhere to applicable safeguarding and compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with 5+ years of experience in systems administration; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in maintaining troubleshooting a wide variety of systems and networks to include high volume/high availability systems. Must have knowledge of debugging protocols and processes.
  • Experience with conducting routine system administration tasks and logging data in system admin logs.

  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and issues identified by customers and implement corrective actions.
  • Due to federal contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this position.
  • This position supports a federal government contract and requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability Determination, depending on the agency’s background investigation requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, implementing, and managing complex server and network environments to meet the needs of clients.
  • Leading and mentoring junior systems administrators, providing guidance on best practices and technical troubleshooting.
  • Monitoring system performance and capacity, conducting routine assessments and implementing necessary upgrades or configurations.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support IT projects, ensuring infrastructure aligns with overall business objectives.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation of system architectures, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensuring security compliance and adherence to organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions to safeguard data integrity.
  • Providing advanced technical support for escalated issues and working closely with service providers for resolution.
  • Managing system patches and updates, coordinating with the team to minimize downtime and risk associated with changes.
  • Evaluating new technologies and recommending solutions to enhance the overall IT infrastructure.
