What You'll Do as a Senior Systems Administrator: Install, configure, & maintain servers, networks, storage, and cloud systems to keep client environments secure and running smoothly. Step in on complex or escalated issues involving client infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems. Troubleshoot outages and high-impact problems, responding calmly and effectively when emergencies arise. Set up & manage firewalls, backups, access controls, and other security tools to protect systems and data. Improve performance and reliability by upgrading systems and helping introduce new solutions when needed. Keep system configurations, network diagrams, and project documentation accurate and up to date. Act as a technical resource for clients and teammates, helping them understand systems and make sound decisions. Work closely with the team to deliver projects on time and maintain consistent service quality. Stay current on new technologies and industry trends to support innovative & practical technical choices. Travel locally as needed (about 10-15%) using company vehicles to support client environments. Our Ideal Senior Systems Administrator: Experienced: Brings 10+ years in senior-level IT administration with hands-on experience across complex environments; familiarity with manufacturing environments is a plus. Technical Experience: Deep experience administering Windows servers, virtualization platforms, storage systems, and cloud-based services, along with network security tools such as firewalls, VPNs, and protocols; Linux experience is required. Certifications: Cisco, Microsoft, or similar certifications are preferred but not required. Leader & Mentor: Enjoys guiding others, sharing knowledge, and helping raise the team's technical standards. Clear Communicator: Able to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical teammates and non-technical clients, with patience and professionalism. Problem-solver: Diagnoses and resolves complex issues independently, stays calm under pressure, and makes sound decisions with minimal supervision. Active: Comfortable with occasional physical demands, such as bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record for five years.
