About The Position

Soft Tech Consulting is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to fill the role of an Senior Systems Administrator for an existing government client. The place of performance for this contract is remote (Soft Tech Consulting in Chantilly, VA). SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED

Requirements

  • BA/BS in a technical discipline.
  • At least 10 years of specialized experience. (specialized experience is defined as progressive experience in the field of Information Processing, where the majority are specialized in numerous specialized Information Processing disciplines involving a range of hardware/software solutions, at least four years of which are concentrated, hand-on experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and resolving issues with various software).
  • Possess IT-I Critical Sensitive security clearance or Tier 5 (T5) at time of proposal submission.
  • Computing Environment: Current Windows Server, MS Windows Server Directory, Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS).
  • DLA CE Cert IA Role/Function: System Administrator with admin accounts/privileged access.
  • Clearance: Secret.
  • Security+ certification

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the stable operation of the in-house computer software systems and network connections.
  • Plan, develop, install, configure, maintain, support, and optimize all network software and communication links.
  • Analyze and resolve end user software program and connectivity issues.
  • Conduct capacity and performance analysis and provides system configuration change and upgrade recommendations.
  • Increase system administrator efficiency and accuracy via the use of automated tools and scripts, develops system administrator procedures, and conducts system administrator training and skills assessment.
  • Provide end user training.
  • Provide recommendations on technology direction to align with business vision.
  • Provides local and remote maintenance support to various operational systems deployed at more than one location. Support includes general maintenance, upgrades, and new installs of servers and applications.
  • Directs the work of other system administrators to provide the day-to-day system administration to include system and resource optimization, and user assistance.
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge of application networking, including load balancing applications, and ensuring fault tolerance.
  • Performs vulnerability management.
