About The Position

JHNA is currently seeking a Senior Systems Admin to join our NAVAIR team in Patuxent River, MD. As a System Administrator supporting NAVAIR, you'll collaborate with talented professionals to create innovative, mission-critical solutions that empower naval aviation and defense operations. Your expertise will help shape cutting-edge systems, enhance national security, and drive technological advancement for our nation. This is a fully on-site position which will require in-person support at NAS Pax River.

Requirements

  • Must have current Top Secret Clearance. US Citizenship required. - U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
  • At least 6-8 years of relevant experience (experience performing System Administration functions. Ideally on Aircraft or Weapons Systems networks, and maintaining and upgrading network infrastructures across the NAVAIR community)
  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college/university
  • Experience with the following: VMware/vSphere Enterprise, Linux, Software development environment, Atlassian tools
  • Familiarity with the following: Windows Server, SAN, Networking, STIGs, ACAS
  • COMPTIA Security+ or other DOD INST 8570 compliant qualification required.
  • Operating system certification (i.e. Windows or Linux).
  • Knowledge of networking principles, theories, and concepts and ability to contribute to the development of new and innovative principles and concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and support an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system.
  • Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users.
  • Provide technical assistance to computer users.
  • Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network system.
  • Perform maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption.
  • Optimize the functionality and performance of hardware and software systems.
  • Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans and capabilities.
  • Respond to unexpected or unauthorized service interruptions and outages.
  • Diagnose software and hardware failures to resolution.
  • Implement and ensure security preventive measures are fully functioning.
