About The Position

This project provides comprehensive non-personal IT support services and Digital Trainer support for the Combined Arms Support Command (CASCOM) and its subordinate organizations at Fort Lee, Virginia. The CASCOM G-6 mission is to deliver IT support to CASCOM, the Army Sustainment University (ASU), and the Ordnance (OD), Quartermaster (QM), and Transportation Corps (TC) schools. This includes extensive computer and IT support for DA civilians, contractors, and permanent party military personnel across various networks (NIPRNET, SIPRNET), Digital Trainers, Logistic Information Systems (LIS), Mission Command system training, conventional classrooms, Classroom XXI, faculty/staff, and web products. The position involves providing systems and server administration to ensure continuous availability and peak efficiency of systems and servers. Additionally, it includes providing training support for Digital Trainer systems, specifically GCSS-A and Mission Command systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field of study, OR must demonstrate a minimum of five (5) years' related experience in a Systems Administrator role supporting Microsoft Office products
  • Eight (8) or more years related experience in IT systems administration
  • Minimum of eight (8) years' experience supporting a Microsoft Windows-based environment
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience supporting Microsoft, Solaris, or other server-based environment in a Server/Systems Administrator position
  • Experience deploying Microsoft Windows systems
  • Minimum of three (3) or more years of specialized experience working with Windows Server 2019, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Forefront TMG, SharePoint, SQL Server 2019, and Active Directory planning and implementation
  • Experience in DoD architectures and communications initiatives such as tactical networks, commercial satellite communications, LAN, systems administration, configuration management tools and techniques
  • Knowledge and experience setting up and managing software testing labs
  • Secret security clearance and CAC eligibility required

Responsibilities

  • Perform system and server administration to ensure maximum availability and uptime
  • Monitor systems to ensure peak efficiency operation
  • Identify and resolve system degradation, unusual activities or system downtime
  • Immediately notify Government representatives of system issues
  • Perform system and server backups and restoration as required
  • Support Digital Trainer systems including GCSS-A and Mission Command systems
  • Provide technical training and user support for mission-critical applications
  • Maintain Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, and SQL Server environments
  • Implement security patches and updates
  • Document system configurations and procedures
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing
