About The Position

The Senior System Director, Business Analytics (SSDBA) reports directly to the System Vice President of Enterprise Supply Chain for PIH Health and is responsible for developing solutions to increase the cost effectiveness of the PIH Health Enterprise. The SSDBA will use various quantitative methods; collect relevant data, including financial data and procurement metrics, and information on productivity and customer demand, in order to study the Organization's inefficiencies and then work on solutions to improve its cost performance and overall effectiveness. Also responsible for coordinating with other business functions to identify potential cost savings opportunities throughout PIH Health. This position will also oversee the COGITO team. The COGITO team will oversee the development, implementation, and management of advanced analytics initiatives within the health system by leveraging data-driven insights to enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making.

Requirements

  • Ability to develop, analyze, and interpret operational and financial data for optimization.
  • Strong problem solving and planning skills and a good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as the role will usually require them to collaborate with larger teams on various projects.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are equally important for the same reason.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and must have a strong technical operational background.
  • Ability to perform data analysis using statistical techniques and establish data accuracy and validity derived from a variety of systems.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or other database structures.
  • Ability to leverage Lean Six Sigma tools and principles to determine root cause and develop sustained solutions to eliminate the issue and optimize the results

Responsibilities

  • Lead the COGITO team in developing innovative AI solutions and analytics for clinical and operational applications.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff, IT, and other departments to ensure successful integration of analytical tools into existing workflows.
  • Drive the strategy and vision for the use of advanced analytics in improving patient outcomes and operational performance.
  • Oversee project management and ensure that timelines and budgets are met.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the COGITO team and across the health system.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including technology partners and academic institutions, to stay current on emerging trends and technologies.
  • Develop and implement metrics to measure the impact of AI initiatives on patient care and operational efficiencies.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior leadership, detailing project outcomes, insights, and recommendations.
