About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: This position reports to the Sales Tax Manager and will work on filing all the company’s sales and local tax returns, preparing supporting documentation, and handling follow-up with audits and inquiries from the government. This position will also be responsible for accounting for any associated tax payables and/or expense accounts, accrual entries, budgets, and reconciliation of all tax general ledger accounts. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: · Prepares tax returns and reviews tax returns that others have prepared. · Prepares tax workpapers and tax calculations that support the tax return. · Reconciles the tax general ledger accounts. · Makes tax payments, both balances due and estimated payments. · Works with various governmental and third-party auditors on audits of tax returns. · Creates monthly journal entries to accrue for tax accounts and record provision differences. · Helps coach and provide guidance to others on the team, when needed. · ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: · Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree · Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting · Certificate(s) or License(s): CPA is a plus · Years of experience: 5+ years in Tax Accounting KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY: · Must possess an in-depth understanding of financial statements and have the ability and experience to analyze the information presented. · Must have strong PC skills (Microsoft Excel and Word). · Must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational skills to meet strict deadlines. · Must be self-motivated and take initiative. · Excellent communication skills. Needs to build successful working relationships with internal and external business partners. · Personal and professional decorum, trustworthy, and of good character. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: · N/A PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: · Regular computer work and sitting INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT: · Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices. Requirements

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Years of experience: 5+ years in Tax Accounting
  • Must possess an in-depth understanding of financial statements and have the ability and experience to analyze the information presented.
