MD² is seeking a seasoned Senior Accountant to join our dynamic and growing team. You are an experienced accounting professional with a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices. With at least five (5) years of full-cycle accounting experience, you excel in a fast-paced environment, and your analytical mindset, attention to detail, and exceptional problem-solving skills set you apart. Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive accounting experience, with two (2) years in a senior or supervisory role preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with automated accounting and/or NetSuite systems is preferred.
  • Analytical Ability: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement changes to improve processes and outcomes.
  • Professionalism: Strong ethical standards and the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day, in-person

Nice To Haves

  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Experience with automated accounting and/or NetSuite systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic decision-making.
  • General Ledger Management: Oversee and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all entries are accurate and timely.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage more complex AP/AR transactions, including the review and approval of entries made by peers.
  • Month-End Close: Lead the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure compliance with all internal controls and external regulations. Assist in preparing for and responding to audits.
  • Tax Preparation: Coordinate with external tax advisors for the preparation of federal and state tax returns, including sales tax filings.
  • Special Projects: Lead and participate in special projects, including system implementations, process improvements, and financial analysis.
