We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant with an analytical mind and organizational skills to assist with financial reporting with a public corporation, ensure compliance and provide support with GAAP and SOX procedures, and support decision-making through accurate analysis. The ideal candidate will bring advanced accounting expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to streamline processes for greater efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years’ experience in multiple facets of accounting
  • In depth knowledge of all accounting and finance principles
  • Advanced Excel and ERP experienced
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills with a can-do approach.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing company is a plus
  • Experience with a private, small to mid-sized firm is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Monthly Financial Reconciliations and analysis in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
  • Record Monthly recurring journal entries.
  • Record Payroll entries for Weekly and Bi-weekly payroll from Corporate Payroll and follow up on any issues.
  • Assist Controller during Annual Financial audit and Corporate Internal Audits (SOX).
  • Assist in Month End Close and reporting to Corporate Accounting.
  • Assist in monthly/quarterly SOX procedures and related record maintenance.
  • Work closely with AP analysts to properly allocate and capitalize freight and duty costs in inventory.
  • Willing and able to work additional time as required to ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly close and other key financial reporting deadlines.
  • Flexibility for other duties may be assigned.
