About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant / Tax Preparer with 3–5 years of public accounting experience to support a growing client base of small businesses and individuals. This position offers broader responsibility, direct client interaction, and a structured environment focused on efficiency, sustainability, and long-term professional growth.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of Public Accounting experience (Required)
• Strong background in Small Business Tax Preparation and Accounting Services
• Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
• Experience preparing Federal and California tax returns
• Proficiency in accounting software and tax preparation software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal client communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines during tax season

Nice To Haves

• CPA License or CPA Candidate (Preferred)
• Experience working with small business owners across various industries
• Knowledge of payroll compliance and sales tax regulations
• Experience handling client advisory conversations and tax planning discussions

Responsibilities

• Prepare Federal and California income tax returns for: Individuals (1040s)
• S-Corporations
• Partnerships
• Small business entities
• Perform full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping services for small business clients.
• Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts accurately and timely.
• Assist with payroll processing, payroll tax filings, and sales tax compliance.
• Maintain accurate financial statements and supporting documentation.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding tax planning, compliance matters, and accounting questions.
• Support year-end closing processes and ensure compliance with federal and California tax regulations.
