Requirements
- Minimum 5-7 years demonstrated successful staff accounting experience
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures, with a focus on Accounts Payable and Receivables
- Positive attitude, extremely organized, excellent communication skills and self-motivated
- Strong computer skills, high rate of literacy and ambition to learn
- Extremely proficient in Microsoft office, including Word and Excel
- Attention to detail coupled with high demands and continuous improvement opportunities
Nice To Haves
- Competency with QuickBooks or similar Accounting systems preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide accounting support to the Assistant Controller and other senior staff
- Provide operational support by managing Accounts Payable, verifying wires for loan funding, preparing payments, and coordinating with vendors, loan servicers, and counterparties on outstanding payments.
- Reconcile accounts and General Ledger bank statements
- Prepare general ledger entries for import to the company’s Accounting system
- Research and correct discrepancies as necessary, maintaining proper documentation
- Assist with streamlining processes through automation where possible and prepare various reports as needed.
