Bishop Gadsden, a premier senior living community, is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This role supports the Controller and CFO in performing accounting functions in accordance with GAAP, with a focus on senior living and healthcare operations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher (Business Administration or Accounting preferred)
Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines independently
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

Background in cost accounting and asset accounting
Experience in senior living, healthcare, or similar industries

Responsibilities

Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and assist with financial reporting
Prepare and reconcile EMBARK billing, invoices, amortization reports, and related journal entries
Assist with resident billing, collections postings, and financial aspects of resident and EMBARK closings
Support residents by reviewing statements and addressing billing-related questions
Approve accounts payable invoices for the Finance department
Maintain and analyze fixed asset records, including land, vehicles, and inventory tagging
Prepare monthly sales tax returns and assist with payroll-related processes as needed
Assist with annual budgets, audits, insurance renewals, and construction reporting/draws
Collaborate closely with Finance, Development, and other internal departments
Address questions from department managers and help resolve financial concerns
