Bishop Gadsden, a premier senior living community, is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This role supports the Controller and CFO in performing accounting functions in accordance with GAAP, with a focus on senior living and healthcare operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (Business Administration or Accounting preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Background in cost accounting and asset accounting
  • Experience in senior living, healthcare, or similar industries

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and assist with financial reporting
  • Prepare and reconcile EMBARK billing, invoices, amortization reports, and related journal entries
  • Assist with resident billing, collections postings, and financial aspects of resident and EMBARK closings
  • Support residents by reviewing statements and addressing billing-related questions
  • Approve accounts payable invoices for the Finance department
  • Maintain and analyze fixed asset records, including land, vehicles, and inventory tagging
  • Prepare monthly sales tax returns and assist with payroll-related processes as needed
  • Assist with annual budgets, audits, insurance renewals, and construction reporting/draws
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Development, and other internal departments
  • Address questions from department managers and help resolve financial concerns
