About The Position

As a Senior Staff Accountant at Red Monkey Foods, you will play a crucial role in supporting the finance department by ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining financial records, and assisting with various accounting tasks. You will collaborate closely with members of the finance team and other departments to help drive financial performance and support strategic decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., Process Pro is a plus).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges
  • Experience with inventory accounting, cost analysis and payroll processes
  • Familiarity with establishing accounting procedures and internal controls is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Perform day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, and general ledger entries.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with the preparation of journal entries and month-end close processes.
  • Conduct variance analysis and investigate discrepancies as needed.
  • Assist with annual audits and tax filings, providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and reconcile asset accounts regularly.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing financial data and analysis
  • Support the standard costing process and analytics
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and financial analysis as required.
  • Participate in our Food Safety and Quality Assurance Programs as necessary.
