About The Position

Under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Talent Acquisition & Classification in Human Resources, this position is a critical part of the Human Resources team responsible for coordinating all aspects of assigned recruitments. Additionally, this position is responsible for analyzing assigned classifications and reclassifications of classified and professional positions at the College of Southern Nevada. The job duties associated within this position include all aspects associated with the: (1) talent acquisition activities with academic faculty, administrative professionals and classified staff and (2) classification/reclassification of administrative professionals and classified staff, (3) provide assistance with Applicant Tracking System (Workday) across campus to employees and candidates when needed, and (4) assist with talent acquisition tracking reporting to measure the effectiveness of processes and goals. The College of Southern Nevada is always looking to strengthen our institution by adding the best available talent to our staff. We’re seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to help us source, identify, screen, and hire individuals for various roles. Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, experience in talent acquisition, proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems, and the ability to devise sourcing strategies for potential applicants. This role requires a candidate with excellent interpersonal skills as you’ll work closely with others across different departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of Applicant Tracking System or Software.
  • 2 to 3 years of professional related experience.
  • Experience with full cycle recruiting, proactively sourcing candidates, using various interview techniques, search processes, and assessment methods.
  • Ability to perform high attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in classification, and reclassification policies, procedures and techniques.
  • Knowledge of and experience in applying relevant federal and state laws, regulations and policies pertaining to recruitment, classification, and reclassification.
  • Must possess excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills.
  • Reliable, ethical, and adaptable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with a diverse workforce encompassing a variety of social styles. managerial styles, socioeconomic backgrounds, people from varied cultural backgrounds and employees at all organization levels.
  • Proven ability to effectively organize and prioritize work activities in an environment where priorities are constantly shifting.
  • Working knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Proficiency in documenting processes and keeping up with industry trends.

  • Associate or higher-level degree.
  • Experience with full life cycle recruitment.
  • Understanding of current employment law and the ability to learn and follow new developments.
  • 2 years’ experience coordinating recruitment activities and preparing required documents.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the staffing and workforce planning needs of the company are being met, with a long-term talent strategy in mind.
  • Devise and implement sourcing strategies to build pipelines of potential applicants, such as employer branding initiatives.
  • Create and implement end-to-end candidate talent acquisition processes to ensure a positive experience.
  • Advise and collaborate with hiring managers and search committees to ensure clear candidate/interviewer expectations.
  • Input into overall hiring strategy of the organization to ensure our teams consist of a diverse set of qualified individuals.
