The Role: We are seeking a Senior Plant Finance Specialist to join our team. The Senior Specialist, Plant Finance provides financial decision support for the assigned manufacturing plants and is a key business partner to Plant Operations in the Advanced Purity Solutions (APS) Division. The individual’s responsibilities are to assist in the maintenance of the plant cost accounting processes and to provide operational/cost accounting analysis in support of plant operations. This position will provide cost accounting and financial support in Danbury, CT, Billerica, MA, Bedford, MA, Ambler, PA, Riegelwood, NC, and Toronto, Canada.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3-5+ years of Financial Modeling and analysis experience and/or cost accounting knowledge and experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical mindset and the ability to problem solve collaboratively
  • Ability to work with minimum instructions
  • Proactive, future-looking, positive attitude
  • SAP experience, Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong communication skills: ability to summarize and clearly communicate financial analysis to non-financial business partners

Responsibilities

  • Complete month-end close tasks like cost center review, preparing/posting journal entries and reconciliations, ensuring that financial statements related to the Plant are properly stated and conform to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Support monthly forecasting cycles and annual budgeting process.
  • Support the establishment of standard costing rates and partner with Operations to review and update material cost, BOM and routings for cost roll.
  • Review/explain work order variances, purchase price variances, scrap and inventory adjustments.
  • Analyze, understand and interpret financial results and provide insightful and actionable comments to plant leadership teams.
  • Support and review proposed productivity / cost saving projects.
