As a Senior Software Engineering Manager within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Cleveland, OH, Birmingham, AL, Denver, CO or Dallas, TX. This role will serve as a senior leadership role accountable for defining, enabling, and driving enterprise adoption of transformation capabilities. This leader will translate strategy into execution by establishing clear standards, ownership, and enablement models that accelerate value delivery and ensure sustained adoption—well beyond individual programs or sponsors. This role directly supports leadership standards, business outcomes, and long‑term transformation sustainability, while bringing strong technical credibility to guide development teams through change. Manage a group of software engineers/managers across multiple product lines. Oversee the talent management of engineering talent, including recruiting, mentoring, and enabling a culture of learning with a focus on engineering craftsmanship. Foster technological innovation, ensuring adoption of current trends, capabilities, and practices emerging in the market. Encourage sound technology choices are made and drive innovative technology architecture and solution design. Identify issues, share best practices, and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Strong background in software engineering and solution development
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supporting enterprise‑scale transformation or enablement initiatives
  • Proven ability to define expectations for development teams and translate strategy into execution
  • Experience creating multi‑year roadmaps aligned to business and technology strategy
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across levels and functions
  • Demonstrated leadership in driving adoption, consistency, and accountability across
  • Experience in enterprise enablement, platform enablement, or large‑scale operating model transformation
  • Familiarity with change leadership principles and adoption frameworks
  • University / college degree
  • 8+ years of industry experience
  • At least 5 years of prior management experience
  • Bachelors degree

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead enterprise enablement, ensuring transformation initiatives are consistently adopted across the organization
  • Identify and address gaps in execution, ownership, and sponsorship that may create delivery friction or duplication
  • Establish standardized enablement models, governance mechanisms, and adoption practices to reduce inefficiency and risk
  • Drive sustained transformation capabilities that persist beyond individual initiatives or leaders
  • Develop and own 3–5 year enablement and technology roadmaps aligned to enterprise strategy and business priorities
  • Translate transformation goals into actionable, sequenced plans that development teams can execute against
  • Ensure portfolios are aligned with clear ownership models to accelerate time‑to‑value
  • Continuously evaluate portfolio progress to ensure measurable business outcomes are achieved
  • Define expectations, standards, and guidance for development teams, ensuring alignment with enterprise enablement goals
  • Serve as a trusted partner to engineering leaders by bringing hands‑on knowledge of how software teams build, deliver, and operate solutions
  • Balance strategic leadership with practical insight into development realities
