About The Position

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Software Engineer for the C2BMC Next Program in Colorado Springs, CO. This role involves providing software development in the Java language for the Regional Applications team, specifically for Enterprise Services. The Software Engineer will be responsible for performing analysis and technical support of systems software products, including problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support. The position requires working independently or with a small group in a dynamic environment, focusing on maintaining, debugging, and configuring software products, developing or modifying operating systems applications from specifications, and assisting with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation. The role also involves interfacing with other systems support groups to resolve problems, set standards, improve efficiency, and designing, coding, testing, and implementing tools for operations automation. Requirements

  • Experience using Java.
  • Ability to work effectively in a rapid paced, team environment.
  • Knowledge of software practices and coding standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance issues, identify root cause, recommend and develop a solution
  • Experience developing enterprise applications on Linux (Windows experience also desired).

  • Use of common software development and management tools such as maven, GitHub, nexus and Eclipse.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
