About the position
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Actions & Workflows Team at Stellar Health, you will be responsible for developing services and infrastructure that translate partner-supplied health data into patient care recommendations. You will also create intuitive workflows that help clinicians focus on high-impact interventions. This role offers the opportunity to shape and build services and frameworks that enable Stellar to rapidly develop new capabilities. With a focus on scalability and innovation, you will have a direct impact on the success of the business and contribute to improving patient care.
Responsibilities
- Work on systems that generate new patient recommendations based on their health claims data
- Build intuitive workflows that help clinicians focus on high impact interventions
- Scale up the platform in terms of data volume and capabilities
- Build frameworks to facilitate the creation and experimentation of various workflows
- Write clear and concise production code for the Stellar Health Platform
- Provide effective and constructive feedback by reviewing others' work
- Deliver new features by collaborating with the founding team
- Set consistent standards for code, testing, and bug fixing
- Work with the founding team to define product roadmaps, specifications, and priorities
- Gather data insights and build models for product improvements or internal use
Requirements
- 7+ years of full-time software engineering experience
- Python experience (preferred) or experience with other backend languages (Java / C++ / Go) and a desire to learn
- A strong sense of accountability; takes pride in what they build and wants it to be useful for others on the team
- Front-end experience or knowledge (React / HTML / JS / CSS), a plus
- Excited about backend engineering
- Thrives off of supporting peers and teammates
- Gets things done and loves working in a dynamic environment
- Loves building platform-level solutions that unlock significant business value for other teams and customers
- Understands, appreciates, and enjoys the responsibility and accountability that comes with being assigned high-level ownership over projects and their success
- Has a knack for explaining technical processes concisely (even to non-engineers) and works well with cross-functional internal teams
- Looking to learn and grow, comfortable with ambiguity and has support from the organization to navigate it
