As an Information System Specialist 4 in Salem Oregon, you will provide technical support, diagnostic help, and operating instruction for users of microcomputers and data communications networked hardware and systems software agency wide. The work of this position directly assists the agency's Technical Services Supervisor to analyze, design and implement most facets of the Department's data communications systems hardware and networking systems software including systems. Requirements

  • Option 1: Three (3) years of information systems experience providing technical support for end users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and system issues.
  • OR – Option 2: An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND one (1) year of information systems experience providing technical support for end users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and system issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience diagnosing and resolving desktop computing errors and performance issues
  • Experience using a service desk ticketing system
  • Experience coordinating maintenance, warranties and upgrades across multiple locations (90+ offices statewide)
  • Experience documenting standard operating procedures
  • Software support, including troubleshooting and configuration of applications and operating systems
  • Comprehensive hardware support, installation, repair, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, and peripherals
  • Experience working in a M365 environment
