About The Position

A Day in Your Life at MKS: This is a senior security leadership role with dual accountability: Full tactical and operational ownership of the security program across all operations in Mexico. Consultative security leadership for multiple sites across the Western United States. The role holder will be an experienced corporate security professional with deep expertise in Latin America (especially Mexico) combined with proven ability to influence and guide site-based security teams across the U.S. You Will Make an Impact By: Mexico – Country Security Manager (Primary Accountability) Serve as the single point of accountability for all security and crisis-management matters in Mexico. Own and continuously improve the country security plan, including risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and security governance. Lead travel-security program for all employees, executives, and third parties traveling in or through Mexico (journey management, tracking, emergency response). Direct crisis-management and emergency-response activities in country; act as the primary interface with local authorities, embassy/consular services, and external response providers. Lead or oversee sensitive internal investigations (theft, fraud, threats, ethics violations, etc.). Act as the subject-matter expert and drive implementation of global standards in: Supply-chain security (C-TPAT, TAPA, cargo theft prevention, route risk analysis) Physical site security (access control, CCTV, guarding, alarm response) Ensure full compliance with MKS (Minimum Security Standards) and corporate best-practice frameworks; conduct regular audits and gap closures. Build and maintain strong relationships with local law enforcement, intelligence providers, and industry peers in Mexico. Western United States – Site Security Lead (Secondary Accountability) Provide expert guidance and consultative security support to local Site Security Managers across California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and other Western states. Mentor and upskill site-based security teams; perform quality-assurance reviews of site security plans and operations. Deliver specialized guidance on workplace-violence prevention, threat management, high-risk terminations, and executive protection as required. Support complex investigations that span multiple U.S. sites or require escalation. Drive consistency of standards and best practices across the Western U.S. portfolio while respecting local nuances.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive corporate security experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role covering Mexico/Latin America.
  • Proven track record of managing security operations in high-risk environments (Mexico experience is mandatory).
  • Demonstrated expertise in travel security, crisis management, supply-chain security, and investigations.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. workplace-violence regulations, threat-assessment methodologies, and high-risk termination protocols.
  • Experience working remotely while still delivering high-impact results across multiple geographies.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (both written and spoken) is required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40–50% (primarily Mexico and Western U.S. sites).
  • Exceptional judgment and decision-making under pressure
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder-management skills (able to operate with high autonomy yet remain collaborative)
  • Culturally aware and adept at navigating matrixed, global organizations
  • Excellent communication skills – able to brief executives and train frontline personnel with equal effectiveness
  • We are interested in a qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. However, we will not be sponsoring work visas for this position, at this time.
