About The Position

We are searching for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Research Associate (SRA) to contribute to the method development and characterization of novel nucleic acid therapeutics. We are looking for an individual who enjoys hands-on laboratory benchwork and brings scientific rigor and intellectual curiosity to their role. This individual will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced entrepreneurial environment as part of a highly collaborative and rapidly growing team.

Requirements

  • B.S. (3+ years), M.S. (1+ years) in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field with at least 1+ years' experience working in drug development or CDMO setting.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex problems and successful track record of identifying, onboarding, and developing new assays/technologies for nucleic acids.
  • Hands-on experience in standard analytical technologies for nucleic acids including HPLC/UPLC (experience with IP-RP is beneficial), LC-MS/MS, UV-Vis, ELISA, capillary electrophoresis, and qPCR.
  • Experience with electronic laboratory notebook (experience with Benchling is ideal)
  • Strong communication, team leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Track record of working effectively in a multidisciplinary environment, interacting with teams from other line functions.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and functions/tasks.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary, and rapidly growing biotech environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to drive advancement of platform development and play a vital role in shaping our analytical capabilities.
  • Step into benchwork to execute platform goals with tenacity, agility, and timeliness.
  • Execute experimental studies to optimize specificity, sensitivity, precision, accuracy, and/or linearity of analytical methods
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data, contributing to the development of robust and reliable assays
  • Troubleshoot assay development and instrument operation issues as they arise
  • Document assay development activities in detailed protocols and reports in an electronic lab notebook (Benchling)
  • Compose method procedures and train team members on new assays
  • Run assays on samples generated during platform development studies
  • Present experimental results and updates to internal teams
  • Assist with general laboratory tasks as needed to ensure efficient operations
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and communicate experimental findings clearly and succinctly in oral, written, and visual formats.
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
