Associate Scientist I, Analytical Research & Development Position Summary Work Schedule : Monday - Friday, standard business hours 100% on-site Join Catalent’s flagship softgel development and manufacturing facility in North America, located in St. Petersburg, FL, with a capacity of 18 billion capsules per year. Requirements

  • Associate in science (AS) degree in scientific field with 5+ years in an analytical GMP laboratory required OR; Bachelor of Science (BS) in a scientific field required.
  • Experience with common analytical laboratory equipment: UV/VIS, IR, AA, and Dissolution.
  • Knowledge of wet chemistry techniques such as titrations and extractions as per compendia.
  • Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-20 pounds.
  • Working with potential hazards will require wearing proper personal protective equipment.
  • Vision requirements include ability to differentiate color, have 20/30 vision with or without corrective lenses, read written documents and frequent use of a computer monitor.

Responsibilities

  • Support analytical scientists to complete milestones for development programs.
  • Perform compendial and non-compendial testing on raw materials, drug substances, in-process samples, cleaning samples and finished products as required.
  • Prepares chemistry reagents, standards, media, and mobile phase as needed for analyses.
  • Required to work with potent and teratogenic compounds with proper PPE equipment.
  • Tabulation of results of analysis as recorded in notebooks, reports, and logbooks.
  • Assures right-first-time execution of departmental methods and SOPs.
  • Supports activities and services necessary to the operations of the department, as assigned.
  • Supports material evaluation process for new materials.
  • Shares responsibility for the routine calibration / standardization of analytical equipment such as, but not limited to balances, pH meters, KF titrators, AA, IR, UV/VIS, etc.
  • Provides project support (wet chemistry and instrumental testing) for new product development.
  • Other duties as assigned.
