The Role: The Senior R&D Electrical Engineer is part of a multidisciplinary team who are responsible for developing and refining products and processes for use in the automated logistics industry. The R&D Electrical Engineer is largely focused on industrial electrical design but is also engaged in aspects of machine control and electromechanical design. This role requires travel up to 10%, both domestically and internationally.

Requirements

  • Electrical Design for Machine Control
  • AutoCAD Electrical/Eplan (Single and Multi-Line Drawings)
  • NEMA/NFPA 70/NEC/NFPA 79/NFPA 70E/UL508A
  • Safety PLCs (e.g. Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider)
  • Industrial Fieldbus (e.g. EthernetIP, Pronet)
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent)
  • 8 years relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Creating electrical designs and architectures for standard products
  • Defining design parameters for the application of standard products by project teams
  • Being well versed in applicable standards such as UL and NEC
  • Developing and maintaining standard methods for performing engineering calculations
  • Setting process and design standards in place for use by project teams
  • Helping develop automation for repetitive CAD and design processes
  • Executing or coordinating physical testing of equipment
