About The Position

The Senior Purchasing Project Manager will directly enable JTEKT’s ability to execute our aggressive growth plans by owning and driving adherence to project timelines to meet internal and external milestones all while balancing quality, cost and delivery. This role can be accomplished working our on Greenville, SC or Plymouth, MI facility. The Purchasing Project Manager leads sourcing and procurement activities for new programs, acting as the liaison between cross-function teams (engineering, cost planning, sales) and suppliers. This role will lead and drive purchasing timelines, ensure KPI’s are met, mitigate supply and financial risks, and ensure that purchasing meets the required cost targets. This role is the lead for driving cost, quality and delivery objectives and milestones. This position will mainly be working on advanced sourcing for new JTEKT business, but will also at the Sr. Managers discretion, be allocated to other critical projects to program manage and execute in support of the JTEKT Business Plan and objectives. This role is extremely critical to the successful launch of programs and to ensuring JTEKT North America achieves profitability targets. What You'll Do Drive on time sourcing of JTEKT parts in support of internal and external milestones Drive competitive sourcing at internal cost targets and drive roadmap actions Participate in program kick off meetings, design reviews, and cross functional sourcing councils to align sourcing deliverables and timelines. Drive escalation if necessary Lead special requests (localization studies, mitigation plans, VAVE projects, cost improvement ideas, etc) as needed from a Purchasing perspective Build strong cross functional relationships within JTEKT with Finance, Cost Planning, Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing Management of Bills of Materials on sourced components and ensuring accurate data and cost targets are being achieved What You'll Need Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business, Accounting, or Engineering Experience in one or a multitude of functions such as sales, purchasing, engineering program management, manufacturing a plus Quantitative, analytical, data-driven decision maker Detail oriented and highly organized APQP experience/understanding Desire to create, own, and manage critical projects Clear, concise communicator with the ability to be direct while building and maintaining productive relationships Ability to multitask, prioritize efforts, and effectively communicate progress and strategic roadmaps Advanced Excel and data analytics Oracle experience a plus Continuous improvement approach 20% occasional travel to JTEKT facilities in Greenville, SC, Plymouth, MI, Mexico and potentially other facilities will be required Work Environment/Physical Demands: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business, Accounting, or Engineering
  • Experience in one or a multitude of functions such as sales, purchasing, engineering program management, manufacturing a plus
  • Quantitative, analytical, data-driven decision maker
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • APQP experience/understanding
  • Desire to create, own, and manage critical projects
  • Clear, concise communicator with the ability to be direct while building and maintaining productive relationships
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize efforts, and effectively communicate progress and strategic roadmaps
  • Advanced Excel and data analytics
  • Continuous improvement approach
  • 20% occasional travel to JTEKT facilities in Greenville, SC, Plymouth, MI, Mexico and potentially other facilities will be required
