About The Position

Easterseals NH is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to lead and strengthen our growing finance team. This newly created role is critical to supporting program growth and agency needs. The position is responsible for accountant analysis, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation related to Housing and Property Management. It will also support the financial activity of construction projects, including budgeting, cost tracking, and reporting to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget. Easterseals New Hampshire and Vermont elevates people of all abilities, serving approximately 18,000 children, adults, seniors, families, and veterans each year across two states. Their programs cover areas like early intervention, autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, adult day and in-home care, behavioral health, family-centered practices for child welfare, housing, and substance use disorders. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience
  • Real Estate/ Property Management experience required
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience with Capital and Fixed Asset Management
  • Strong understanding of job costing, project budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Proven problem solving, good communication skills, and financial analysis with the ability to multi-task meeting established deadlines
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, Power Pivot, and PowerBI
  • Advanced Experience with Yardi and Workday
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and sub-ledgers, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
  • Ensure all financial data and reports meet internal standards and GAAP requirements.
  • Record monthly rents and follow up on balances.
  • Prepare financial statements and management reports for residential properties.
  • Create monthly journal entries to include accruals and recurring entries.
  • Assist in developing annual capital budgets and forecasting future capital requirements.
  • Support leadership to track project progress and asset usage.
  • Analyze financial data, revenue, and expenditures to provide insights, forecasts, and budgetary support to leadership
  • Interpret lease language, including CAM and real estate tax provisions.
  • Assist property management with annual budgets and operating expense reconciliations.
  • Prepare assigned audit schedules and work papers for external auditors.
  • Gather required information for assigned research projects and develop potential solutions for relative issues.
  • Work as a team player with a focus on the organization’s mission/vision and values.
  • Continually review and refine procedures and processes to create efficiencies and enhance effectiveness.
