Grow with us, H2O+U. Your Opportunity As a Senior Project Manager, you will work on some of the most exciting and complex projects around while coordinating with senior leaders across Stantec. In this role, you will be required to manage multiple projects simultaneously and will be responsible for collaborating with the local office and dispersed project teams, communicating directly with clients, managing scope and deliverables, developing and managing project budgets, and performing internal and external project status reporting. Requirements

  • Strong project management skills working on civil engineering projects, with experience in organizing, planning, and executing projects from pursuit through closeout, involving internal personnel and subconsultants.
  • Experience in leadership including setting expectations for project success, and strategy development.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in decision making, including making sound defensible business decisions; and identifying, assessing, evaluating, and solving complex problems.
  • Experience managing project budgets including project financial forecasting and earned value management.
  • Travel to other offices as well as to project sites may be required.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil and/or environmental engineering, or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years’ progressive experience in project management, preferably for water resources projects.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).

Responsibilities

  • You manage multiple water resources and multi-disciplinary engineering projects to produce engineering scope, budgets, and schedules to meet our clients’ expectations in close collaboration with Project Technical Leads.
  • You utilize Stantec’s internal Project Management Framework to manage project risk, forecast key project financial metrics, manage project schedules, identify staff resource needs, and collaborate with project controls specialists.
  • You lead and develop a team of engaged and collaborative engineers, setting expectations for team performance, including supervising local staff.
  • You will be a mentor and a leader to more junior professional and technical staff, providing technical guidance to less experienced staff working on a common project.
  • You work closely with Local and Regional leaders, Business Developers, and Project Teams to leverage Stantec’s internal resources and expertise.
  • You are a seller-doer capable of generating work and creating long-term relationships and delivering long-term value to clients for Stantec.
  • You coordinate with national and regional sector leaders to connect subject matter experts with Client challenges, identify project resource needs, and support strategic project pursuits.
  • You identify opportunities and lead pursuits in the North Central region; engaging directly in relationship development internally and with clients, positioning, and teaming for strategic pursuits.
