Overview The Senior Project Manager, Finance will lead high ‑ visibility, cross ‑ functional programs that improve financial operations, systems, and controls. Reporting to the VP, Financial Operations (Nashville), this role is responsible for project delivery across Order-to-Cash (OTC), Procure -to-Pay (P2P), real estate finance initiatives, and support ERP/finance system implementations. The Senior Project Manager will partner closely with Finance, IT, Procurement, Legal, HR, and business leaders to ensure projects are delivered on time, on scope, and achieve measurable business outcomes. This is a hybrid role (3 days onsite) located in Nashville, TN.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance , Business, Information Systems, or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive project/program management experience with at least 4 years leading finance, ERP, or shared-services transformations.
  • Proven track record delivering cross-functional projects involving Finance, IT, and Procurement.
  • Experience with ERP implementations (preferably Dynamics 365 F&O, Oracle, or SAP) and modern finance platforms (P2P, AR automation, commission systems).
  • Demonstrated experience managing external service providers, negotiating SOWs, and driving vendor accountability.
  • Strong financial acumen with comfort building business cases, monitoring P&L implications, and reporting / presenting to senior finance leaders.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with proven ability to present to C ‑ suite and Board-level audiences.
  • Advanced project planning and scheduling skills, including mastery of MS Project (or similar) and Gantt-driven delivery.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in KPI development, benefits tracking, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills across functions and at senior levels.
  • Familiarity with SOX controls, internal audit requirements, and finance process documentation.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and deliver under pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.
  • Agile/Scrum certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Program & Project Delivery: Lead end-to-end delivery of complex finance transformation projects (ERP upgrades, P2P/CMS system conversions, OTC process redesigns, drafting of process taxonomies/SOPs , corporate card program implementations, etc. ). Develop project charters, detailed schedules (Gantt), resource plans, RACI matrices, and risk/issue logs.
  • Governance & Stakeholder Management : Establish program governance and steering committee cadence. Influence senior stakeholders, translate ELT priorities into executable plans, and maintain transparent executive reporting.
  • Benefits Realization & Financial Controls: Define measurable success criteria and benefits (cost savings, DSO/DPO improvements, automation ROI). Track benefits realization, ensure proper accounting treatment, and embed control frameworks to satisfy SOX and audit requirements.
  • Change Management & Communications: Drive change management activities including stakeholder communications, training plans, process documentation, and end user adoption metrics.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Maintain risk registers, lead issue remediation, and ensure projects meet regulatory, privacy, and security requirements.
  • Systems & Reporting: Define system requirements, coordinate testing cycles (UAT), lead cutover planning, and ensure reporting/dashboards are built to provide ELT visibility.
