About The Position

Join CNN’s digital revenue team at a pivotal moment of transformation and growth. As Senior Manager, Programmatic Yield & Monetization, you will play a critical role in shaping the programmatic monetization strategy for one of the world’s most recognized media brands. This role will lead the optimization of CNN’s premium display and video inventory across programmatic channels, driving yield, revenue performance, and marketplace strategy. Sitting at the intersection of data analytics, revenue strategy, and advertising technology, this position offers the opportunity to influence how CNN’s digital inventory is monetized across a rapidly evolving programmatic ecosystem. You will collaborate with leaders across Ad Sales, Inventory & Planning, Ad Technology, Ad Operations, Finance, and external platform partners to maximize inventory value while identifying innovative opportunities for growth and optimization. Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of experience in digital advertising with a strong focus on programmatic monetization, yield management, programmatic strategy, or ad operations.
  • Deep familiarity with display and video ad serving platforms, with experience using Google Ad Manager (GAM) and/or FreeWheel strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with SSPs, DSPs, and other partners across the programmatic advertising ecosystem.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders across technical, operational, and commercial teams.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify complex marketplace challenges and translate insights into strategic actions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day programmatic monetization strategy for CNN’s premium display and video inventory, optimizing pricing, inventory allocation, and marketplace dynamics to maximize revenue performance.
  • Develop and execute yield optimization strategies leveraging auction insights, marketplace dynamics, and performance analytics.
  • Partner closely with Ad Sales, Inventory Planning, Ad Tech, Finance, and Ad Operations to align programmatic initiatives with broader revenue and business objectives.
  • Monitor revenue pacing, inventory utilization, and deal performance across programmatic channels, proactively identifying risks and opportunities to improve yield.
  • Manage relationships with SSPs, DSPs, and ad technology partners, supporting onboarding, deal activation, and ongoing performance optimization.
  • Build and maintain reporting frameworks to track programmatic revenue, marketplace performance, and yield trends across display and video.
  • Translate complex data and performance insights into clear, actionable recommendations for internal stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends within the programmatic ecosystem, identifying new opportunities to enhance monetization strategies and operational efficiency.
