What You’ll Do At Koalafi, we partner with merchants to offer flexible lease-to-own financing to consumers, helping merchants increase sales while giving customers more ways to pay over time. We work with a broad range of merchants, from small businesses to large enterprises, across both brick-and-mortar and ecommerce. A strong merchant experience is essential to how easily merchants onboard, how effectively they operate day to day, and how confidently they grow with Koalafi. We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to own the merchant experience and underlying merchant platform at Koalafi. In this role, you’ll ensure merchants have the access, features, reporting, and reliability they need to be successful. The scope spans merchant-facing experiences, internal agent experiences, and the backend systems and data foundations that power them. This individual contributor role reports directly to the Senior Director of Consumer and Merchant Experience. You’ll work closely with a dedicated engineering team and partner tightly with the Merchant Tech Lead. Drive improvements to the merchant experience at Koalafi, ensuring merchants have the access, features, reporting, and reliability they need to be successful Improve merchant-facing experiences, including: Merchant access, authentication, and permissions Core merchant portal experiences and workflows Reporting and visibility into applications, performance, and activity Improve the agent-facing tools and backend UI used to support merchants, ensuring internal teams have the context and capabilities they need to serve merchants effectively Shape the merchant platform and data foundations that support: Merchant-facing experiences Agent and operational workflows Use of merchant data across other product teams and systems Define product direction that balances usability, business viability, scalability, and system integrity Build scalable, self-serve experiences that work well for most merchants, while allowing for flexibility without unnecessary complexity This role requires comfort working across both UI and backend product areas. You’ll be accountable for the quality of merchant-facing experiences as well as the systems and data models that support them. How you’ll work Partner closely with the Merchant Tech Lead to set direction, make tradeoffs, and deliver high-quality systems and experiences Spend time directly with merchants through discovery, testing, and feedback to understand real needs and pain points Work with Sales and Account Management to ensure merchant-facing products support onboarding, growth, and day-to-day operations Collaborate with the Application Experience teams where the merchant experience intersects with application flows Partner with Product Marketing, Operations, and Support to ensure merchants are well-supported and informed, without directly owning training or enablement tools Turn merchant and business needs into clear priorities, requirements, and roadmaps

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in B2B SaaS or merchant platforms
  • Experience owning both UI-heavy product experiences and backend systems or data models
  • Strong product judgment and comfort making tradeoffs between speed, quality, and scalability
  • Experience conducting direct customer discovery and translating insights into shipped products
  • Ability to operate effectively in a cross-functional environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience successfully working directly with Sales team stakeholders
  • Experience with reporting, dashboards, or data-rich product areas
  • Pragmatic, execution-focused approach with the ability to think beyond immediate delivery
  • Location Requirement: This position requires regular in-person attendance at one of our two office locations (Richmond, VA or Arlington, VA). Candidates must already be located within a commutable distance to either location, as relocation assistance is not available at this time.
