About The Position

Toast creates technology to help restaurants and local businesses succeed in a digital world, helping business owners operate, increase sales, engage customers, and keep employees happy. The Business Technology & Tools (BTT) organization builds the internal platforms and tools that power how Toast sells, supports, and grows our customer base. Within BTT, the Sales Experiences space is evolving rapidly — expanding beyond Salesforce into custom, Java-built tooling that directly impacts sales efficiency, revenue growth, and rep satisfaction. As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the future of Toast’s internal sales experiences. This is a newly established, high-impact role created to close a long-standing design gap and bring strong, systems-oriented product design into a fast-growing sales domain. You’ll partner closely with Product Managers and Engineers as a core triad member, ensuring that the tools our sales teams rely on are intuitive, scalable, and thoughtfully designed end to end. Your work will directly support initiatives that streamline the path from lead to deal helping sales reps work faster, smarter, and with greater confidence, while driving meaningful ARR impact for the business.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product design, UX, or interaction design, with a strong track record of owning complex workflows end to end.
  • Experience designing internal tools or enterprise software, especially for sales, operations, or revenue-focused teams.
  • Proven ability to conduct user research, synthesize insights, and translate them into clear journey maps and design solutions.
  • Strong systems-thinking skills, ability to design scalable frameworks rather than one-off screens.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous problem spaces and helping teams gain clarity through design.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with experience partnering closely with Product Managers and Engineers in a triad model.
  • Ability to balance usability, business impact, and technical constraints when making design decisions.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to clearly articulate design rationale to stakeholders across product, engineering, and business teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing for or alongside Salesforce-based workflows or other CRM-driven systems.
  • Experience improving rep efficiency, tooling adoption, or revenue driving workflows.
  • Background working in B2B SaaS, sales enablement, or revenue operations adjacent spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the dedicated product design partner for Sales Experiences teams within BTT, embedded in a product–engineering–design triad.
  • Lead user research and journey mapping across the full sales lifecycle, from lead generation through quoting, amendments, and order fulfillment.
  • Design intuitive, efficient UX/UI for internal GTM tools that improve rep efficiency and drive sales optimization.
  • Own experience design for high-impact tools such as Quote Builder and Cart Builder, helping scale proven pilots into broadly adopted platforms.
  • Translate complex workflows (quoting, discounting, multi-location setups, promos, contract amendments) into clear, usable, and scalable experiences.
  • Establish and evolve cohesive UX patterns and standards for internal sales tooling to prevent fragmentation across teams and platforms.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers to align design decisions with business goals, adoption metrics, and revenue outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Engineers to provide structured design guidance, reducing rework and eliminating the need for ad-hoc design decisions during development.
  • Validate designs through usability testing and iteration before and after launch, ensuring tools drive real-world impact for sales teams.
  • Advocate for user-centered design practices within a historically engineering-led space, raising the bar for internal product quality.
