About The Position

As part of the Maple Grove Process Development team, this position will lead a team that provides development labs, prototype solutions, technology development, and technical support across all phases of product development. This role will oversee the development and management of the people and processes required to deliver robust, scalable, and high-quality manufacturing processes to divisional and operations customers. The Senior Process Engineering Manager will provide strategic input into departmental, divisional, and Boston Scientific plant network initiatives. This role will also be tasked with building, developing, and empowering a strong team capable of fulfilling multi-project and multi-customer needs for the business. Success will require effective partnerships across functions and geographic locations to drive execution of key programs and continued growth of internal business across all Boston Scientific divisions. At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows an onsite work model requiring employees to be in our local office five days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience relevant to this role
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading technical teams (not necessarily by means of overseeing direct reports)
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% (domestic and international) to support development and transfer activities at various sites
  • Demonstrated cross-functional collaboration in technically demanding environments
  • Experience leading teams throughout the product lifecycle-from exploratory to commercialization and end of life

Nice To Haves

  • Proven leadership and management experience with technical teams, including coaching, development, and motivating individuals to achieve results
  • Prior experience in the medical device or other highly regulated industry
  • Experience leading teams in developing and transferring manufacturing processes and/or production lines across a global network
  • Working knowledge of Boston Scientific therapies and products
  • Experience working on development programs with wide functional and geographic reach
  • Ability to anticipate future technology needs and initiate programs with minimal oversight
  • Strong vendor management and collaboration skills
  • Mechanical aptitude

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering teams to develop highly capable, scalable, and robust manufacturing processes, and successfully transfer them into operations
  • Collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing teams to create innovative and manufacturable product designs
  • Develop detailed work plans, budgets, objectives, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports; monitor and troubleshoot performance and schedule issues, while enabling the team to achieve objectives
  • Recruit, coach, and develop organizational talent
  • Create and foster an inclusive, high-performance, entrepreneurial environment
  • Keep the organization's vision and values at the forefront of decision-making and action
  • Demonstrate effective change leadership
  • Build strategic partnerships and collaborate cross-functionally to further departmental and organizational objectives
  • Serve as a technical resource, providing ongoing feedback and coaching to direct reports and project teams
  • Ensure functional deliverables are completed to meet quality systems requirements and excellence standards (e.g., process characterization, validations, FMEAs)
