From our Austin Texas location, Countermeasure & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions is seeking a talented, motivated Senior Principal RF Test Electrical Engineer who wants to join an organization where teamwork is highly valued. The selected candidate is required to have experience in testing and validating radio frequency (RF) systems and components. You will be responsible for ensuring the performance, quality, and reliability of RF products through rigorous testing and analysis. This role requires a deep understanding of RF principles, test methodologies, and the ability to work with advanced test equipment and cutting-edge technology. You will collaborate closely with design engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to develop and execute test plans, which include the integration of Test solutions, and providing detailed reports on test results. The candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong analytical skills, and have a passion for continuous improvement. Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum 8 years of prior work experience or an Advanced degree and minimum 5 years of prior work experience.
  • Familiarity with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, phase noise analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Eligible to obtain a DOD Security Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with testing and troubleshooting RF and Microwave component/subsystem such as up-converters, down converters, power amplifiers, waveform generators, RF modulators, and limiters.
  • Experience with RF principles and test methodologies.
  • Experience in RF testing and validation.
  • Experience with automated test scripts and software tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with any of the following tools: MATLAB, Python, Computer Simulation Technologies (CST), Microwave Design Studio, High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) and Advanced Design System (ADS).

Responsibilities

  • Employ your expertise, decision skills, and independent judgment for RF Test solutions in a production environment.
  • Design, develop and troubleshoot test solutions to support DVT (Design Verification Testing) and high-volume production testing.
  • Perform high-volume RF testing using advanced test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Mentor and provide technical support and guidance to other team members in the RF domain.
  • Analyze test data and provide detailed reports on performance, quality, and reliability.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on testability and reliability.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to identify and resolve design / testability issues early in the development process.
  • Document test procedures, results, and any issues encountered during testing.
  • Assist in the development of new RF testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Support the hardware engineering department in the execution of RF Technology Training.
