About The Position

We are hiring a Sr. Electrical RF Test Engineer for one of our clients in Rochester, NY. In this senior role, you will design, develop, test, and sustain automated functional test systems for DoD and international defense customers, with a primary focus on radio/RF test system development and heavy emphasis on NI LabVIEW software application development. You will work on high-reliability test solutions in a defense/aerospace environment, following a 9/80 schedule (80 hours over 9 days every 2 weeks, every other Friday off).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field
• At least 6 years of relevant experience in electrical/RF engineering and automated test system development
• Strong hands-on experience with NI LabVIEW and TestStand
• Basic knowledge of networking (TCP/IP) and radio/RF communication systems
• Experience designing or developing automated test systems or RF test equipment

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming and Design (OOP/OOD)
• Familiarity with software management tools (SVN/GIT, JIRA)
• RF and baseband test/measurement experience (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power meters, oscilloscopes, audio analyzers, DMMs)

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated functional test systems for radio/RF applications
• Write and maintain software applications primarily in NI LabVIEW (and TestStand)
• Integrate test systems with RF/baseband hardware and communication protocols
• Perform test system validation, troubleshooting, and sustainment
• Collaborate with engineering teams to meet defense customer specifications
• Apply basic networking (TCP/IP) and RF communication knowledge
• Support documentation, test planning, and system handover
